Judy Powell, District Governor 2008-2009

Welcome to the Lions District 4L2 web site!

Lions Clubs in our area provide opportunities for people in all walks of life to give back to our communities. District 4L2 supports Lions clubs in Southern California from Long Beach on the south to Pasadena on the North to Covina/West Covina on the east. While we are known for our focus on sight and hearing assistance, we also provide resources in other ways to improve our communities.

We are part of Lions International, the largest service club in the world with more than 46,000 clubs in 194 countries and nearly 1.4 million members.

I would like to extend a warm invitation to anyone who would like to learn more about Lionism and the good work that we do.

Our mission in Lionism has never wavered: "We Serve."

My Goals for the Year as Governor include:

1) Promote the formation of two new clubs by June 2009;
2) Arrange one extension training workshop in the first quarter of my term;
3) Encourage the recruitment of 50 new members by June 2009;
4) Sustain membership growth through retention programs;
5) Reduce the number of dropped members by 50%;
6) Promote effective orientation programs in at least 50% of all clubs by the end of the calendar year 2009;
7) Maintain District orientation programs at four scheduled Cabinet meetings throughout 2008-2009.

That’s a fairly ambitious program and I am well aware that we will need all of your help to achieve it. I also know that our District Lions will once again respond with spirit, determination and dedication!

Again, thank you for visiting our site. We hope you find the information helpful.

Sincerely,

Judy Powell
District Governor 2008-2009
